Presented is a multi-signed 11th Annual NBA All-Star Game framed print with 15 signatures, including Hall of Famers Wilt Chamberlain and Tom Gola. The glossy white 11 x 14-inch poster includes the signatures, in blue and black pen, of 1961 National Basketball Association All-Stars including Hall of Famers Tom Heinsohn, Paul Arizin, Bob Cousy, Dolph Schayes, Red Auerbach, Larry Costello, Bill Russell, Cliff Hagan, and Hal Greer. Their signatures are located near small black & white head & shoulder photographs of each player, under the legend “11th Annual NBA All-Star Game Syracuse, N.Y. January 17, 1961” in red and black type across the top center. The photos are set within the red-outlined letters “ASG” in the center, and above the black printed legend across the bottom center “A Cordial Welcome from the Syracuse Nats”. The poster has a water stain in the lower left corner. The poster is mounted on a lime-green matte and displayed in a 16½ x 19½-inch silver metal with glass frame. Please note the backing board within the frame is loose, with only one edge secured by a metal nail. Gola was a five-time NBA All-Star (1960-1964) first with the Philadelphia Warriors and then with the New York Knicks. He teamed with All-Pros Paul Arizin and Neil Johnston to lead the Warriors to an NBA championship in 1956. In 1959, Johnston temporarily retired due to a knee injury and the Warriors added seven-foot superstar Wilt Chamberlain. Again sacrificing himself for his team, Gola helped the Warriors consistently reach the NBA Playoffs, but they could not beat the star-studded Boston Celtics in the NBA Eastern Division during his seasons in the early 1960s even with Chamberlain. During the 1959–60 season, Gola became the first Warrior to have three straight games with a triple-double (the only other being Draymond Green, 2016). On January 10, 1960, Gola recorded 18 points, 19 rebounds and 11 assists in a 116-103 win over the Knicks. Gola played with the Knicks from 1962 to 1966. He was enshrined in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on April 26, 1976. This item comes with a LOA from the Tom Gola Estate.
