Offered is a 1966 Tom Gola “Tom Gola Nite” plaque presented to the former Philadelphia Warriors star when his then-current team, the New York Knicks, played the host Philadelphia 76ers at Philadelphia’s Convention Hall on March 17, 1966.  As it was the last regular season game of the ’66 NBA season, the host Sixers and the visiting Knicks honored Philly hometown hero Gola with special pre-game ceremonies. The 5 x 16 x 18-inch brown wood with gold metal ornaments features a ½ x 9 x 11-inch gold metal scroll engraved with the legend “Presented to Tom Gola On the Occasion of “Tom Gola Nite” in Recognition for his Outstanding Collegiate and Professional Play and for Inspiration to the Youth of Our Country by Your Many Friends March 17, 1966”. The engraved scroll is mounted at the right of the brown wood plaque. At the left is a 3 x 6½ x 10-inch gold metal figure of a basketball player passing the ball, set atop an eagle with wings spread. This item comes with a LOA from the Tom Gola Estate.
