One of the oldest college athletics ticket in existence. This 1 1/2” x 3 1/4” salmon-colored ticket admitted the bearer to the Yale College Gymnasium to view an exhibition by the university’s gymnastic squad. The proceeds were given to the Yale Navy, the university’s crew team. The original owner marked “1869” in pencil to mark the year. A wonderful example of Victorian-era aesthetics, the ticket is attractively designed and remains in very good condition despite its age.
