Imagine riding down Hollywood’s Sunset Boulevard in a custom 1963 Chevy Impala with the convertible top down on a beautiful Southern California day. Better yet, picture riding this iconic car down any main drag as the envy of onlookers. That’s what is offered here as this truly one-of-a-kind car was custom built for the late great Kobe Bryant and given to him by his wife Vanessa. This vehicle was commissioned by Kobe’s wife Vanessa as a gift for her husband for Christmas in 2006. Vanessa Bryant retained the services of West Coast Customs of Corona, CA, the famed shop that inspired MTV's “Pimp My Ride”, to create the ultimate Impala lowrider. Beginning with a solid foundation of a rust-free 1963 Impala, WCC disassembled the car and blasted the body to bare metal for what would be a multi-coat paint finish in a deluxe mix of purple and royal blue that was custom blended by the renowned House of Kolor.

Regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, Kobe Bryant won five NBA championships, and was an 18-time All-Star, a 15-time member of the All-NBA Team, a 12-time member of the All-Defensive Team, the 2008 NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP), and a two-time NBA Finals MVP. Bryant also led the NBA in scoring twice and ranks fourth on the league's all-time regular season scoring and all-time postseason scoring lists. Bryant, a shooting guard, spent his entire career (1996-2016) with the Lakers and tragically passed away on January 26, 2020 at the young age of 41.

The interior of his car was artfully re-done, with all new white leather upholstery studded with genuine Swarovsky crystals that is offset by royal blue piping and carpets. The exterior touches include 13-inch 100-spoke Dayton wire wheels mounted with P155/80-R13 Reliant Super Ride tires, while a trunk-mounted stereo system features a powerful Sony amplifier and multiple speakers and subwoofers. The 327cid V8 engine that was originally on the car was completely rebuilt with custom Edelbrock headers and billet accessories and feeds a new glass pack dual exhaust system. The front brakes were converted to a power disc set up, while a standalone tachometer and power tilt-function steering wheel were added for improved driver comfort and performance.

As with any true lowrider, the suspension was completely customized with a comprehensive hydraulic system featuring a pair of Pro Hopper "Envious Touch" pumps, three Adel dumps and front 6" and rear 12" cylinders, all controlled via four switches and powered by eight batteries and eight solenoids. Additionally, a rear coilover configuration and molded upper A-arms were added for overall ride quality. The body received all new glass, moldings and weather stripping, while the brightwork was fastidiously re-chromed. This incredible 1963 Impala drop-top has only 24,729 miles on it and presents with magnificent quality and boasts connections to one of professional basketball's all-time greatest legend and personality. Please note that the winning bidder will have to make arrangements for picking up the vehicle which is located in Indiana and Goldin Auctions will provide the necessary information once payment is complete.
