Harry Truman was the President who gave the go-ahead on dropping the two Atomic Bombs on Japan, essentially ending the Second World War. It was almost 20 years after he left office when Truman signed this approximate 7.25 x 10.5 inch typed letter. It reads, "The Goldmans: Mrs. Truman and I were happy as we could be to receive that beautiful big bouquet of carnations from all of you at the Christmas season. they (sic) added a lot to the festivities. Your thoughtfulness pleased us most highly. Sincerely yours, Harry Truman." The signature is very bold, grading minimally ("9"). Below the "HARRY S. TRUMAN" letterhead is the date "January 12, 1964," while the Goldmans address appears in the lower left. The upper right contains the remark "File." Full LOA from PSA/DAN, cert number B58262 with PSA sticker on lower right corner of reverse.
