Michael Wacha turned a lot of heads in his rookie season with the St. Louis Cardinals, going 4-1 in 15 regular season appearances before lighting the baseball scene on fire with his postseason play, where he also went 4-1 in five starts while earning National League Championship Series MVP honors. This jersey can be photo matched to his 2/27/13 Spring training appearance(3 IP 0 ER 5 K) . His first spring training appearance was four days earlier, also in a road jersey. According to team sources, he (like other low level rookies) was issued only one road spring training jersey, making this the first jersey he wore in a game for the Cardinals. This gray, button down game used 2013 St. Louis Cardinals Michael Wacha road jersey features “Cardinals” across the chest and Wacha’s number “74” stitched in with the popular St. Louis logo of two cardinals perched on a baseball bat. His name “WACHA” and his number “74” both appear stitched on the back. All are in red-on-navy blue tackle twill. The front tail of the jersey features a “Majestic Authentic Collection” patch that reads “SIZE 50”, and the official MLB logo patch is on the back collar. The jersey exhibits evidence of light game use and appears to be all original, complete with MLB Authentication number EK374972.
