Any conversation about the greatest third baseman of all-time would have to start and end with Philadelphia Phillies legendary Hall of Famer Michael Jack Schmidt. Regarded as the National League’s premier power hitter from the early-1970s to the late-1980s, “Schmitty” owned his era, leading the league in home runs eight times in 13 years from 1974-1986 while hitting 35 or more 10 times, including a career-high 48 in 1980.

1984 was another great year for Schmidt, as he led the National League in home runs with 36 and RBI with 106 while finishing in the Top 10 in the NL MVP vote. Offered here is one of the sticks used by Mike Schmidt during the 1984 season. This Worth 500T model bat displays outstanding game use with a crack on the handle. There are three raised taping stripes on the upper handle that were coated with pine tar. Please note that one of the pieces only covers half of the original taping and is loose. There is a coating of pine tar on the lower handle. Schmidt’s number “20” is handwritten on the knob in black marker while “MS” and “355” are stamped on the knob as well. Schmidt has signed his name in black marker with the inscription “1977” below. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B17929) for the game use and has been given a very high grade of GU 9.5, plus a LOA from JSA (BB88262) for the signature.
