On the night of Friday August 19, 2012 Yankee captain Derek Jeter strode to the plate in the bottom of the 5th inning. With the Yanks training the Red Sox by a run, Jeter teed off on a Franklin Morales pitch tying the game with his 250th career home run. This is the home plate the Yankee great touched to record that momentous milestone. Yankee Stadium earth still clings to the base and the hefty plate shows the expected game use.
