Hall of Fame New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter joined the likes of Hall of Famer Wade Boggs and slugger Alex Rodriguez when he hit a home run for his 3,000th hit of his career during the Yankees 5-4 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on July 9, 2011 at Yankee Stadium. Boggs, Rodriguez, and Jeter all homered for their 3,000th hit. The superstar shortstop went 5-for-5 on the day, recording three singles, a double, and a home run and scored 2 runs and knocked in two RBI.
