Coming directly from the personal collection of Hall of Famer and baseball’s Iron Man Cal Ripken, Jr., this baseball dates to Cal’s youth era when he was 12 or 13-years-old. This ball is an “OFFICIAL AAA BALL” and has “St. Pete 1973” handwritten on the sweet spot in in green pen. Ripken, whose father Cal, Sr. was a longtime coach in the Baltimore Orioles system, had baseball in his blood and took to the sport at a very young age and excelled at every level. This ball is recognition of that fact as inscribed on the south panel is “To Calvin To The Best Little League Pitcher in Baseball” and signed by Herman Starrette. Starrette was a longtime coach serving with many organizations including the Braves, Orioles, Giants, Phillies, Brewers, Cubs, Expos and Red Sox. This ball comes with a signed LOA from Cal Ripken, Jr.
