For small schools to make a name for themselves, they need to strike it big in recruiting. That’s exactly what happened with Davidson College. Landing Stephen Curry, the son of former NBA player Dell Curry, propelled Davidson deep in the NCAA Tournament during his sophomore year, losing out to top-seeded Kansas 59-57 in the Elite 8. Curry became only the fourth player in NCAA Tournament history to score at least 30 points in his first four games, joining Clyde Lovellette, Jerry Changers and Glenn Robinson.
Offered here are a pair of Nike Elite Sneakers worn by Stephen Curry during his junior and final season at Davidson in 2008-09. These white sneakers have red trim and are a size 14. The Nike swoosh is in red on the outsides and the heels have a red cover. An off-white panel with thin red stripes are on the outsides leading up to the laces. The toe areas are all-white and the tongues have the Nike ELITE logos. Curry has signed the outside of the right shoe in black marker and inscribed “30” on the red Nike swoosh. Curry also inscribed “I Can do all things…” on the outside of the toe area and “Romans 8:23” on the opposite toe side. The right sneaker has been signed by members of his Davidson team with signatures including Will Archambault, Ben Allison, Bryant Barr, Brendan McKillop, Max Paulhus Gosselin, Andrew Lavedale and others. These sneakers show excellent use and come with a LOA from Beckett Authentication for the signatures.
