At the University of Notre Dame, football championships are common, but what aren’t common are these championship banners celebrating their various titles. This lot includes three such banners, all comprised of soft Kelly-green felt with blue velvet trim and lettering, measure approximately 17" x 35". They celebrate the 1924 and 1929 National Championship teams under Knute Rockne, and the Legendary Four Horseman, who ran their way to that 1924 title. The Four Horseman banner has the famous quite from Grantland Rice, who initiated that great name. The fourth banner is all felt, blue with gold trim, with "UNIVERSTIY OF NOTRE DAME NOTRE DAME STADIUM" sandwiched around a tremendous image of the stadium. This banner has three loopholes along the top for easy hanging. These four items are not often seen, and rarely offered as a quartet. All are in Near Mint condition, making for great displays.
