As the premier base stealer in the games history, Rickey Henderson literally ran himself into the baseball Hall of Fame. Except for Pete Rose, Barry Bonds and Ty Cobb, Henderson reached base than every other major league player. This cap was worn by Henderson during his Yankee hey day era of the mid to late 80s. The wool New Era hat is traced to the 1985-87 period based upon the New Era tag design, and exhibits tremendous evidence of overall use with multiple areas of dirt stains, sweat marks and inside wear. The inner brim has his number "24" in black marker and his "Rickey Henderson" signature in black marker. This hat was given directly by Henderson to our consignor, who was affiliated with the New York Yankees organization, and a close friend of Rickey's. COA from PSA/DNA, cert number U77392 for the signature and LOA from Dave Miedema, noted game used item expert for the cap.
