Graded PR 1 by PSA. Hall of Famer, in a treasured Rookie Card depiction. Presented is an icon of the collecting hobby, in the form of the universally desired '52 Topps portrayal of Mickey Mantle. The Yankee slugger's 1952 Topps card is one of the true touchstones of our hobby and is instantly recognized, even by non-collectors. Every enthusiast covets a Topps "rookie" card of Mickey Mantle, and no serious 1950's baseball card collection can be considered truly complete without one. The offered example represents an elusive concept: a relatively affordable, modestly graded specimen of this prized entry. The piece reveals natural evidence of a one-time encounter with moisture, clearly an episode that worked to the card's detriment (primarily at the front's right edge) but which will immeasurably benefit one of the hobby's ever-hopeful collectors. The card's back is largely clean. A generally presentable survivor, in Poor condition.
