The Philadelphia Spectrum hosted numerous events from its doors opening in September 1967 to the final event in October 2009. The two prominent tenants were the Philadelphia Flyers and Philadelphia 76ers. The Flyers hoisted two Stanley Cups and the 76ers had one NBA Title during the Spectrum era. The Spectrum was also the only facility to host both the NHL and NBA All-Star games in the same season in 1976. The NCAA Final Four was held at the Spectrum that same year. The Spectrum was also the site of the famous Christian Laettner buzzer beater that sent Duke to the Final Four in 1992 over the upstart Kentucky Wildcats. These two floor seats remain from the now demolished building. These two metal framed chairs with padded seat cushions are dark red. One seat has “Spectrum” molded into the metal top back, while the other seat has “Wachovia Complex Comcast Spectacor” painted on the top back. Both chairs show signs of heavy use and fold out. One seat is numbered “9” which is located underneath the seat and the other chair is numbered “5”. Multiple images and LOAs are available at goldinauctions.com.
