One of the most dominant and feared pitchers of all time, Randy Johnson was in the prime of his career during the 2002 season with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Johnson had already won four Cy Young Awards, including three-in-a-row from 1999 through 2001. 2002 was a continuance of his dominance for The Big Unit as he finished with a 24-5 record and an NL best 2.32 ERA to earn his fourth consecutive Cy Young, becoming the 2nd pitcher to achieve that feat, and fifth Cy Young overall. Johnson had the pitching Triple Crown in 2002 leading the NL in wins (24), ERA (2.32) and strikeouts (334).

During that dominant 2002 season, Johnson also recorded his 3,500th career strikeout during the May 21st game in San Francisco, passed Walter Johnson for 8th place on the all-time strikeout list during the May 26th game and struck out 17 Colorado Rockies during the April 21st game. Presented here is the very jersey Randy Johnson wore when he recorded his milestone 3,500th career strikeout, passed The Big Train Walter Johnson and had a 17-strikeout game. This jersey has been photo matched to him waving to the crowd after reaching that milestone in the May 21st game by Resolution Photomatching, along with being matched to seven total games – including that May 21st game. Resolution matched this jersey to the April 16th, April 21st, May 6th, May 21st, May 26th, June 5th and June 15th games. In these seven games, Johnson combined to go 4-1 with a 3.24 ERA and 69 strikeouts. Johns
