2018 National League Rookie of the Year Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. earned his second Silver Slugger Award during the Covid-shortened 2020 season that saw the Braves win their third consecutive division title and their first appearance in the National League Championship Series since 2001. One of baseball’s most talented up-and-coming players, the slugger hit a 495-foot home run, the longest of the 2020 season, during the first inning off of Boston Red Sox pitcher Chris Mazza for the 19th lead-off home run of his career during the Braves 8-7 victory over the Red Sox on September 25, 2020.
Presented here are a pair of game used, signed and inscribed gloves worn by Acuna during the Covid-shortened 2020 season. The blue and red gloves are made of plastic, leather, and fabric and feature a “FRANKLIN” logo in metallic red on a navy plastic base located on the backhand of each glove. A metallic red and navy MLB logo is affixed to the Velcro wrist strap of each glove. A plastic Franklin logo appears on the inside of the wrist straps in red, white, and navy. Acuna Jr. signed and inscribed “Game Used 2020” on the inside palm of each glove with a silver metallic paint pen. The gloves show excellent signs of game use and contain visible evidence of wear on the inside palms and fingers. The game used, signed and inscribed batting gloves come with a COA from Acuna.
