Former Los Angeles Dodgers’ pitcher Jerry Reuss appeared in 30 games for the Dodgers in 1984, starting 15 games and going 5-7 with a 3.82 ERA. Reuss threw 99 innings and struck out 44 batters. Offered here is one of the road jerseys worn by Reuss during the 1984 season. This size 46 button-down jersey was manufactured by W.A. Goodman & Sons of Los Angeles and features “Dodgers” in their famed cursive script and a paraph sewn on across the chest in blue and white tackle twill. Reuss’ number “41” is sewn on below in red tackle twill. The W.A. Goodman size 46 tag is sewn on the inside back collar. The back has “REUSS” and “41” sewn on in blue and white tackle twill. The sleeves are capped with white/blue/white stripes and the left sleeve has a “LOS ANGELES 1984 DODGER STADIUM OLYMPIC BASEBALL” patch. This jersey displays solid game use with signs of multiple washings, including fraying and fading of the stitched letters and numbers. This jersey comes with a LOA from Bob Case, who was the manager of late Casey Stengel and acquired this jersey during his time in baseball.
