During the Cold War and strained relations between the Soviet Union and the United States, the 1980 Olympic Medal round hockey contest won in a gigantic upset by the good guys, was such a monumental victory, it was voted as top sports event of the 20th century. The captivating moments of the last 10 seconds, punctuated by Al Michaels call of "Do you believe in Miracles?! Yes!" was eventually followed by U.S. goalie Jim Craig draped with an American Flag looking into the stands for his father. This salesman's sample ring features five CZ stones shaped like the Olympic logo, set atop a blue stone, and surrounded by "U.S.A. OLYMPIC HOCKEY GOLD MEDALIST" in raised relief. One side has "CRAIG", the Olympic logo and his number "30", while the other side has "USA 4 USSR 3" and "USA 4 FIN 2", the Olympic hockey logo and "1980". Engraved inside the band of this size 10/32 gram 10K gold ring are the scores of the five other matches the U.S. hockey team won, "Miracle On Ice", with "SA C-48" and "BALFOUR 10K". It is without a doubt the greatest victory in sports history, and after the Americans beat Finland 4-2 two days after dispatching the Soviets, the gold medal was won. Near Mint condition. Size 10.
