Hall of Fame shooting guard Michael Jordan announced in front of a crowd of 800 journalists at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, that he was retiring from basketball for the second time. Fresh on the heels of the second three-peat championship run of his career, Jordan stated that he was “99.9 percent certain” that this retirement would be permanent. The point one percent won out, and less than two years later Jordan signed with the Washington Wizards in 2001. Jordan’s 22.9 points per game, 5.2 assists, and 1.42 steals were Wizards team bests.

Presented here is a Washington Wizards home jersey signed by Jordan. The white mesh pullover jersey features a blue strip of cloth encased by brown and black piping. The sleeves and collar are trimmed in brown, black, and blue, and “WIZARDS” in cursive across the chest in blue-on-brown-on black tackle twill. The number “23” appears on the chest and back of the jersey in blue-on-brown-on -black tackle twill. A Wizards Nike Team NBA Authentics size “50” manufacturing tag with a “LENGTH +4 MADE IN EL SALVADOR” flag appears on the jersey’s left front tail. A red, white, and blue NBA logo rests upon the jersey’s left front shoulder. “JORDAN” is located on the back of the jersey in blue-on-brown tackle twill. Jordan signed the number “2” on the back of the jersey with a silver metallic paint pen. The signed jersey is bright white and is in pristine condition and the signature is bold and easy to read. The signed Washington Wizards home jersey comes with a COA from Upper Deck Authenticated (BAH92787).
