The Athletics found a home in Kansas City from 1955 to 1967 after moving from Philadelphia but before heading out west to Oakland. This navy blue, button-up heavy jacket features a white “A” logo stitched on the left chest, an eight-button snap closure front with brown fur lining. Two front pockets have leather lining around the openings. The sleeve cuffs, collar and waist are elastic with red-and-white stripes. There is a white “24” stitched onto the bottom of the left sleeve. Among the players wearing No. 24 for Kansas City during that time were Wally Burnett (1957-58), Bob Davis (1958), Dick Hall (1960), Lew Krausse (1961), Diego Segui (1962). The jacket show signs of heavy use, mostly on the sleeves and waist. All buttons are attached and are dark navy blue, two have a slightly different style, but still added during team use. This jacket provided warm comfort during those cold day in late September when the A's were annually early eliminated from the post season. The jacket comes with an LOA from Dave Miedema, noted sports jersey expert.
