From 1957 to 1967, Ted Williams lent his name to the Moxie Bottling Company, which feature the slugger's name and image on their root beer product. This lot includes a 15" x 10" cardboard "TED'S CREAMY ROOT BEER" sign picturing a carton caricature of the Red Sox star, who also signed it "To Mike, Your Friend Ted Williams" in bold black Sharpie. The brightly colored sign is slightly bent but displays well and is NRMT. There's also a "TED'S DELICIOUS, CREAMY ROOT BEER" carton depicting Williams' cartoon image in the lower-left corner. There are three bottles in the six-pack. One is an unopened 12-ouncer with generic label. Another is an unopened 8-ounce with a colorful image of Ted with bat on shoulder emblazoned on the glass. The third is an empty of the same. Each is in NRMT condition. Six bottle caps round out the collection, each reading "TED'S ROOT BEER" and in VG-EX condition with varying degrees of wear. All the items are contained in a well-worn, wooden Ted's Root Beer case with handle holes, measuring 12" x 10.5" Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
