The 1965 All-Star Game, held at Minnesota's Metropolitan Stadium, marked the ninth consecutive (of 18 straight) All-Star appearance for Baltimore Orioles third-baseman Brooks Robinson. Robinson was just coming off his 1964 A.L. MVP season, so his selection came as no surprise that year. In 1965, Robinson finished third in the MVP race, slugging 18 home runs, 80 RBI and a .297 average, and his customary vacuum cleaning effects at the hot corner. Brooks was 1-4 in this All-Star game, and eventual 6-5 National League win. Presented is an extremely early 34.5", 31.4-oz. Louisville Slugger All-Star Game bat used by Brooks Robinson in that memorable game. The beautiful model "MC44" bat is composed of top quality flame burned white ash and features "Brooks Robinson" scripted across the barrel, with and "1965 ALL STAR GAME" and "MINNESOTA" are stamped, respectively, above and below Robinson facsimile signature. All of the manufacturer's stampings remain intact and distinct, and the bat displays nice game use with ball marks and stitch impressions, plus a professionally repaired handle crack. An exceptional Brooks Robinson All-Star Game bat used by him during the 1965 mid-summer classic. Full LOA from PSA /DNA.
