Stating exhaustion from the Chicago Bulls three-peat and his stint as a member of the 1992 Men’s Olympic Basketball team dubbed “The Dream Team,” Hall of Fame basketball player Michael Jordan sent shockwaves through the National Basketball Association and the world when he announced his retirement from the Chicago Bulls on October 6, 1993. Jordan further added fuel to the fire when signed a Minor League Baseball contract with the Chicago White Sox on February 7, 1994. Baseball was a dream of his late father who was tragically murdered in a carjacking in 1993. Jordan reported to spring training and was assigned to the Birmingham Barons, a Double-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. Jordan batted .202 with 51 RBI, 30 stolen bases, three home runs, 114 strikeouts, and 51 walks. Jordan would leave baseball and return to basketball on the fears that he would be asked to be a replacement player during Major League Baseball’s 1994-95 strike.

Presented here is an Official Bobby Brown American League baseball signed by basketball Hall of Famer and one-time minor league baseball player, Michael Jordan. The ball features a “RAWLINGS” stamp in blue on the east panel and “CUSHIONED CORK CENTER RO-A” in blue on the west panel. Jordan signed the south panel of the baseball with a blue ballpoint pen. The signature is bold and features no bleeding and there is a green mark on the south panel. The baseball displays evidence of light toning and comes with a LOA from JSA (B30737).
