No player captured the basketball fan’s imagination like Kobe Bryant. “The Black Mamba” enraptured fans with cold-blooded play and a killer instinct that allowed the former Lower Merion High School PIAA State Champion to score an unbelievable 33,643 points in his 20-season NBA career. The five-time NBA champion was named to 18 NBA All-Star teams, one shy of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s NBA record, while winning the 2007-08 NBA Most Valuable Player award after scoring 28.3 points per game. Tragically, Bryant’s life ended in a helicopter crash early in 2020 before the legendary Laker was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Although no longer with us, Bryant’s incandescent NBA career has granted the peerless competitor an everlasting legacy among basketball fans worldwide.
