Before he was selected third overall by the Denver Nuggets in the 2003 NBA Draft, forward Carmelo Anthony played one season of NCAA basketball for the Syracuse Orangemen. Anthony won the NCAA National Championship with the Orangemen, capturing their first-ever NCAA Title and was named the NCAA Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player. Anthony averaged 22.2 points and 10.0 rebounds during the season, and Anthony put up 20 points and 10 rebounds during the Orangemen’s victory over the University of Kansas in the championship game. Anthony would move on to the NBA where he would be selected to 10 All-Star teams and earn NBA scoring champion honors in 2013.
