Not only is Mariano Rivera baseball’s all-time saves leader with 652, but the New York Yankees closer also holds the record for postseason saves with 42. This roughly 23x26 ½-inch framed lineup card, statistical plate and photo of Rivera comes from New York’s 3-1 win over the Twins in Game 3 of the ALDS. Rivera pitched two innings of relief to notch postseason save 27 and add to his MLB record. Rivera’s signature is displayed in bold, black Sharpie in the bottom right corner of the lineup card with the inscription “My 27th career post season save” and “Hideki hits his 1st post season HR.” Twins manager Ron Gardenhire’s signature also appears on the lineup card in red ink to the left of Rivera’s. An 8x10-inch photo of Rivera pitching appears in the upper right corner of the piece while a silver plate detailing the game is fixed below. The plate has five bullet points that read “OCTOBER 4, 2003 – ALDS GAME,” “YANKEES 3 – Twins 1,” “HIDEKI MATSUI HITS HIS FIRST POSTSEASON HOME RUN,” “MARIANO RIVERA RECORDS HIS MLB RECORD, 27TH POSTSEASON SAVE,” and “THIS PIECE IS SPECIALLY INSCRIBED BY RIVERA.” Below those bullets is an inscription that reads “LIMITED EDITION 1 OF 1.” The framed piece comes with certification from Steiner Sports and has MLB Authentication number “MT00249611.”
