Produced exclusively for rookie Chicago Bulls phenom Michael Jordan in 1984, the Nike Air Jordan I sneakers were released to much fanfare and anticipation in 1985. Designed for Nike by Peter Moore, Tinker Hatfield, and Bruce Kilgore, the Air Jordan sneaker went on to become the hottest shoe in Nike’s history and was released in various colorways. These presented high top Nike Air Jordan I size 11 deadstock/never worn sneakers feature the Carolina colorway in honor of Jordan’s college team, the University of North Carolina, where the freshman Jordan won the NCAA National title with a game-winning shot against Georgetown in 1982. The high top Air Jordan I’s feature the iconic Nike “Swoosh” on the outstep and instep of each sneaker in baby blue. A white mesh toe box is encased in a baby blue toecap. “NIKE AIR” and the Nike “Swoosh” appear on the top of the white tongue on each sneaker in baby blue. The “AIR JORDAN WINGS” logo appears on the upper outside portion of the high top in white. The rubber soles are baby blue and feature a “NIKE” and the “Swoosh” logo imprinted in baby blue on the sole. Jordan signed the lateral side of the heel on the right sneaker with a black marker. The original tag featuring an image of Jordan in the classic “JUMPMAN” pose that would be made famous later and the Air Jordan “WINGS” is still attached to the left sneaker. The sneakers feature a yellow mark on the toecap of the right sneaker due to age, not wear. The leather around the high top of each sneaker features some cracking also due to age and not wear. The sneakers come in the original black box labeled with “NIKE” and the “Swoosh” logo in red on the sides and top of the box. The signed original pair of Nike Air Jordan Carolina blue sneakers with original tag and box come with a COA from Upper Deck Authenticated (UAS19084).
