The 2012 Detroit Tigers won the AL Central, prevailed in five games against the Oakland A’s in the AL Division Series, swept the feared Yankees in four games, and ran out of gas against the San Francisco Giants in the World Series. The loss didn’t diminish any of the season’s outstanding play, however. Justin Verlander went 17–8. Miguel Cabrera became MLB’s first Triple Crown Winner in 46 years, slamming 40 homeruns, knocking in 139 runs, and batting .330. Prince Fielder complemented Cabrera with 30 homers and a .313 average. This white, Selig, 2012 Rawlings postseason baseball holds signatures from 31 Detroit Tigers including Miguel Cabrera, Prince Fielder, Justin Verlander, Doug Fister, Omar Infante, Alex Avila, Drew Smyly, Andy Dirks, Phil Coke, Ramon Santiago, Al Alburquerque, Don Kelly, Jhonny Peralta, Danny Worth, Rick Porcello, Max Scherzer and 18 others. The signatures are boldly signed in blue ink. An LOA from PSA/DNA accompanies the baseball.
