The story of Jackie Robinson and his courageous fight to integrate America’s Game has been told and retold so many times it has attained almost mythical status. We can talk about his baseball career: Rookie of the Year in 1947, NL MVP in 1949, six-time All-Star, two-time stolen base leader, but the story of Jackie Robinson is so much more than statistics and trophies. The implications of what Jackie Robinson accomplished in 1947 and continued to work for throughout the rest of his life, extended far beyond the baseball diamond – he made an entire nation reevaluate and change the way they thought about one another. For all of these accomplishments a baseball signed by Brooklyn Dodgers ground-breaking Hall of Famer remains one of the most coveted collectible items in the industry. This offered unmarked baseball has been signed in bold blue pen on the panel west of what was the stamped sweet spot. Robinson inscribed “Best wishes Jimmy” above his signature. The ball displays slight toning with a cream-colored tone and have other abrasion marks, none of which affect the signature or inscription. This ball comes with LOA from JSA (Y29005) for Robinson’s signature.
