Dubbed “The Dream Team” by journalists due to the sheer amount of star power on the team, the 1992 United States Men’s Olympic Basketball team steamrolled their competition during the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. The first Olympic team to feature professional basketball players, the Dream Team defeated their Olympic opponents by an average of 44 points en route to capturing the Gold Medal against Croatia. The team featured 11 future inductees into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and included co-captains Larry Bird and Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Chris Mullin, John Stockton, Karl Malone, Clyde Drexler, Scottie Pippen, Patrick Ewing, David Robinson, and Christian Laettner. Called “The greatest collection of basketball talent on the planet” the team earned entry into the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame in 2009 and the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame in 2010.

Presented here are a pair of black USA “Dream Team” shorts signed by Hall of Famer Michael Jordan. The black mesh shorts feature four gold stars on the gold-trimmed lateral sides of the shorts. A gold line runs across the black trim on the bottom of the shorts. “NIKE” and the iconic “Swoosh” symbol are embroidered in gold on the bottom of the short’s left thigh. “USA BASEKETBALL” is embroidered in gold and black on the short’s right thigh. Two black and gold stars are featured prominently on the front waistband of the shorts. A Team Nike size “M” manufacturing tag located on the gold interior mesh of the shorts feature “USA LEGENDS” and a “TEAM NIKE” retail tags attached to the manufacturing tag. Jordan signed the front of the shorts on the right thigh with a gold metallic paint pen. The shorts are in pristine condition and the signature is bold.
