Graded NM 7 by PSA. Hall of Famer. Among more than 750 copies recorded in PSA's census reporting, fewer than six percent have been placed at a higher, unqualified tier. Here's a visually delicious representation of Lou Gehrig's most celebrated baseball card. A treasure of a Goudey collectible, the item features striking and brightly colored artwork, and showcases an illustration that is among the most enduring and recognizable images of "The Iron Horse." In the year this card was released, Gehrig won the American League Triple Crown, belted 49 homers, and drove in 165 runs with a .363 average. His efforts would quite probably have led the Yankees to another pennant, but various injuries caused the Bronx Bombers to finish in second place. The offered card is a pleasing, enduring commemoration of the beloved star's 1934 performance. This example has well-defined corners, breathtaking color, and clean white borders. The card's reverse is crisp and clean, with a few spots of toning causing no meaningful distraction. Near Mint condition.
