In 1995-96, Michael Jordan led the Chicago Bulls to an unprecedented 72-win campaign, culminating with a triumphant six-game defeat of the Seattle SuperSonics in the NBA Finals to clinch Chicago’s fourth NBA title and begin Jordan’s second three-peat. Jordan, in his first full season back from his sojourn in Minor League Baseball, won yet another NBA scoring title with a scoring average of 30.4 points per game, to go with 6.6 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 2.2 steals per game. The former Tar Heel won the fourth of his five NBA MVP awards in 1995-96 and was selected as the Bill Russell NBA Finals Most Valuable Player after scoring 27.3 points per game against Seattle in the Finals.

During the February 18th, 1996 game against the Indiana Pacers in Indianapolis, Jordan pumped in 44 points to lead the Bulls to a 110-102 victory and improved Chicago’s record to 46-5. Jordan led all scorers in that game, while also adding 7 assists, 5 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks.

Offered in this lot are a pair of game used Air Jordan Concord 11 sneakers worn by MJ, with both sneakers signed by Jordan himself. The sneakers were given to Bill Bevan, the then-official scorekeeper for the Indiana Pacers after the February 18th game. A letter of provenance from Bill Bevan’s widow will accompany these sneakers. These game used Nike sneakers are white with black-colored accents and black Jumpman logo, with Jordan’s number “23” embroidered on both heels. The sneakers are made of white patent leather and show consistent wear. Jordan has signed the inner ankle areas of both sneakers in black marker. These game used sneakers from Michael Jordan come with a LOA from MEARS for the game use, plus the aforementioned notarized letter of provenance from Sheryl Bevan, the widow of Bill Bevan, who details how these sneakers were gifted to her husband. Additionally, there are individual LOAs from Beckett Authentication for Jordan’s signatures. Please note that the Michael Jordan signed Beckett Magazine referenced in the Sheryl Bevan LOA was previously sold by Goldin Auctions and will not be included with this lot.
