Presented here are a collection of nine single and multi-signed baseballs from the collection of a former Major League Baseball scout. The first item in this presented lot is a multi-signed San Diego Padres baseball with 26 signatures. “SAN DIEGO PADRES” is stamped in black on the north panel of the baseball. “HORSEHIDE COVER WOOL YARN WOUND CORK CENTER-9in 5oz” is stamped in black on the east panel. San Diego Padres manager Preston Gomez signed the sweet spot of the baseball and other key signatures include Wally Moon, Clay Kirby, and Canadian Baseball Hall of Famer Cito Gaston. All of the 26 signatures were signed with various colors of ink. The baseball features bleeding of the signatures and elements of toning.

The second item in is an Official Charles S. Freeney National League baseball with 15 signatures. A “SPALDING THE CUSHIONED CORK CENTER” stamp in black appears on the west panel of the baseball. The baseball features 15 signatures including key signatures from Hall of Famers Willie McCovey, Dave Winfield on the north panel with San Diego Padres manager John McNamara signing the sweet spot. All fifteen signatures were signed with a blue ballpoint pen. The signatures are bold and feature no bleeding. The baseball features some elements of toning and the red stitching has faded.

The third item is an Official Leonard S. Coleman Jr. National League baseball signed by former Major League pitcher Johnny Podres. Podres was a four-time All-Star selection and a four-time World Series champion, earning the 1955 World Series MVP honors while playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers who defeated the Minnesota Twins in seven games. A “RAWLINGS” stamp in black appears on the east panel. “CUSHIONED CORK CENTER RO-N” in black is stamped on the west panel. Podres signed and inscribed “1955 WS M.V.P.” on the sweet spot of the baseball with a black ballpoint pen. The signature is bold and features no running. The baseball features elements of toning throughout.

The fourth item is an Official A. Bartlett Giamatti National League baseball signed by “The Say Hey Kid” Hall of Famer Willie Mays. The two-time NL MVP and 1951 Rookie of the Year led the NL in home runs four times and hit four home runs in one game in 1961. Mays was selected to 24 All-Star appearances and won the World Series in 1954. A “RAWLINGS” stamp appears in black on the west panel of the baseball. “CUSHIONED CORK CENTER RO-N” appears stamped in black on the west panel. Mays signed the sweet spot of the baseball with a blue ballpoint pen. The baseball shows evidence of toning throughout and the signature is bold.

The fifth item is an Official Bowie K. Kuhn 1980 World Series baseball. The 1980 World Series between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Kansas City Royals was notable for being the first World Series played entirely on Astroturf and the first series between two teams that had never won a World Series. The Phillies defeated the Royals in six games to secure their first World Series victory in franchise history. “WORLD SERIES 1980” in red on the west panel of the baseball. A “RAWLINGS” stamp in red appears on the east panel of the baseball. The baseball was signed and inscribed “To James, my good buddy. Best wishes KC Royals” by Kansas City Royals coach Billy Connors. The signature on the baseball is faded and was signed and inscribed with a blue ballpoint pen. The baseball features elements of toning throughout.

The sixth item is a Wilson Scholastic baseball signed by Hall of Fame catcher Gary Carter. Carter spent 19 years in the Major Leagues where the famed catcher was known for his hitting and his fierce defense behind the plate. The 11-time All-Star spent the majority of his seasons with the Montreal Expos and New York Mets. Carter was an integral part of the 1986 New York Mets team that won the World Series in 1986. Carter led the National League in RBI in 1984 and earned five Silver Slugger Awards, three Gold Glove Awards. Carter entered Cooperstown on the sixth ballot in 2003. This presented baseball features “WILSON LEATHER COVER” stamped in black on the east panel of the baseball. “SCHOLASTIC” appears on the south panel of the baseball stamped in black. “A1061 CUSHIONED CORK CENTER CHINA” is stamped in black on the west panel. Carter signed his name on the sweet spot of the baseball with a blue ballpoint pen. The signature is faded and the baseball shows elements of toning.

The seventh item is an Official Charles S. Feeney National League baseball signed and inscribed by Mike Ivie, Hall of Famer Willie McCovey, and Johnny Grubb. All three players played together on the San Diego Padres during the 1975 and 1976 seasons. The Spalding baseball is stamped “THE CUSHIONED CORKCENTER SPALDING” on the east panel. First baseman Ivie signed and inscribed “To Jamie” on the north panel of the baseball with a blue ballpoint pen. Outfielder Grubb signed and inscribed “To Jamie, Best Wishes!” with a blue ballpoint pen. Hall of Famer Willie McCovey, who is a member of baseball’s 500 Home Run Club and was the NL Rookie of the Year in 1959, signed and inscribed “To Jamie, Best Wishes” on the west panel of the baseball with a blue ballpoint pen. The signatures are bold and feature no elements of bleeding. The baseball features elements of toning throughout.

The eighth item is an Official Roy Jackson Eastern League baseball signed by “Joltin’ Joe DiMaggio. DiMaggio played all of his 13 seasons for the New York Yankees where the Hall of Famer was selected to 13 All-Star Games and won nine World Series championships. “THE CUSHIONED CORK CENTER SPALDING” stamp in black appears on the east panel of the baseball. The three-time AL MVP and two-time AL batting champion DiMaggio signed the sweet spot of the baseball with a blue ballpoint pen. The signature is faded and the baseball features elements of toning.

The ninth and final item in this lot is an Official Chuck Murphy Florida State League baseball signed by noted Major League Baseball umpire John Hirschback. “WILSON A1010 PREMIUM LEATHER” is stamped in black. “SYMMETRICALLY WOUND CHINA” is stamped on the west panel of the baseball in black. Hirschbeck signed the sweet spot of the baseball with a blue ballpoint pen. The baseball is bright white and the signature is bold. This entire lot has been pre-certified by Beckett Authentication.
