Jackie Robinson is one of the most well-regarded and admired athletes in baseball history, and as such his items are always in demand. Since he passed early back in 1972, his highly-desirable signatures are less plentiful than other contemporary players, especially signatures on Official National League baseballs. This off-white ONL Frick baseball has been signed "Jackie Robinson" ("8") at the top of his usual side panel. However, on the opposite panel is the scripted name of the unknown "Howie Gessler," who was likely the original owner of this baseball. Despite this extra name, the Robinson signature still displays as a single-signed baseball, presenting all the qualities of being a single. The quality of the ball itself is remarkable, with very bold stampings on a very clean ONL baseball. It is obvious young Mr. Gessler cherished his special keepsake as much as the next owner will. Full LOA from PSA/DNA, cert number P14564.
