President Barack Obama authorized the May 2, 2011 raid on terrorist mastermind Osama Bin Laden’s Abbottabad, Pakistan compound dubbed “Operation Neptune Spear” that resulted in the death of Bin Laden. The swift raid was led by Navy Seal Team Six, and U.S. Navy Seal Robert J. O’Neil is credited to have fired the shots that killed the terrorist responsible for taking 2,977 lives on September 11, 2001.
This presented item is a 30 x 18-inch black nylon flag labeled “MISSION ACCOMPLISHED” on the bottom in white lettering. An image of Bin Laden with a red “X” across his face is located on the center of the flag. “02 MAY 2011” appears on the bottom of the flag in white lettering. O’Neil signed and inscribed “NEVER QUIT” on the right side of the flag with a silver metallic paint pen. The signature is bold and the flag features crease folds. The “MISSION ACCOMPLISHED” flag signed by the man who killed Bin Laden, U.S. Navy Seal Robert J. O’Neil, comes with a COA from PSA/DNA (9A36981).
