Former New York Yankees third baseman Charlie Hayes will be best remembered for catching the final out in the 1996 World Series on a foul ball by the third base stands. Immediately leaping for joy at catching the final out, he joined his teammates in celebration. Hayes was also a productive hitter and the following season in 1997, Hayes hit 11 home runs and drove in 62 for the Yankees. This offered Louisville Slugger M356 model bat was used by Hayes during the 1997 season and displays outstanding game use. This un-cracked bat has several ball marks, blue ink transfers and black bat rack streaks present on the barrel. There is a moderate coating of pine tar on the upper handle and the lower handle has a thicker application of Mota stick. Hayes’ number “13” is handwritten in black marker on the knob and top barrel. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B25041) for the game use and has been given the highest possible grade of GU 10.
