Winter 2014 Auction Closing Feb 7

Offered is a simply beautiful Cardinal red football sideline jacket issued and worn during the 1960s by No. 64 of the St. Louis Cardinals. The Cardinal franchise moved from Chicago to St. Louis for the 1960 season (now they are the Arizona Cardinals). Within the collar is the "Wilson" manufacturers tag, with an attached unreadable size tag. The left fron breast of this snap closure jacket is a white shield with the word "CARDINALS" and the mascot running with a football. What makes this jacket a St. Louis jacket is the unmistakable St. Louis Arch fully displayed on the shield. The reverse has the number "64" stitched in white tackle twill. The only player who wore this number in the 1960s was Ken Gray, a long time Cardinals offensive guard. This all original jacket remains in superb overall condition with the snap closures exhibiting only a few scratches, with the waist and sleeve elastic trim still retaining its original elasticity.
