A rare keepsake from a Philadelphia Athletics Worlds Championship season of 1910, when they defeated the Chicago Cubs in a five-game World Series. This souvenir book, that is digest-size and reads much like a yearbook - was likely sold at Shibe Park during the Fall Classic. The 52-page book is extremely substantial and is in NM condition. The interior pages feature full-length photos and short biographies of team members, including Connie Mack, Eddie Plank, Chief Bender, Eddie Collins, Frank Baker, Jack Barry, Stuffy McInnis and Jack Coombs. Included is a portrait of owner Ben Shibe, as well as a history of the Athletics franchise, which would later move West to Kansas City and later, even further west, to Oakland. This is a genuinely rare and precious item as it is one of the few souvenir items produced for sale to fans relating to Connie Mack's first World Championship season in Philadelphia. The soft-cover book measures 5.25" x 7.75" and shows moderate wear.
