Hall of Famer Derek Jeter was one of those rare players who can beat you two ways - with his bat and with his glove. While his clutch hitting may have grabbed all of the headlines, Jeter’s five Gold Glove Awards at shortstop attest to the level of play that helped the Yankees win five World Series championships during his legendary career. Jeter, sixth on Major League Baseball’s all-time hits list with 3,465, wore this wore this Rawlings PRODJ2 fielding glove during a 2005 season that saw him hit .309 with 70 RBI.
This Rawlings PRODJ2 11 ½ inch glove shows excellent game use with well-worn wear in the pocket and web face, along with various light dirt and scuff marks and has been dated to the 2005 season, where he won one of his five Gold Glove Awards. Additional game use indicators include moderate scuffing on the tips of the fingers and welting on the back of the fingers that can be attributed to infield play. The glove has been factory personalized with “Derek Jeter” embroidered in white on the outside of the thumb. The glove also features a fleece-lined wrist strap and a “The Gold Glove Co.” strip tag appears on the top of the pinky. This game used glove comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1G00689) for the game use.
