This unusual handmade bat is wood burned or carved with the phrase '"1936" "37" All Stars' plus the names of dozens of players of those various All-Star teams, plus all the major league teams. All this work appears to have been performed during that period. The All-Star Game tradition had just begun, and many of the games greatest players were still participating. This 35.25 inch, 33.4 ounce bat has seen its share of use with heavy deadwood and all the trappings of game use including a long handle crack which has been repaired with a multitude of nails. The names include many of the greats from that time frame including Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Mel Ott, Carl Hubbell, Bill Dickey and dozens of others. We can find no other way to describe this item other than early baseball folk art. This is a tremendous and unique, one-of-a-kind baseball bat. Comes with a MEARS LOA as AUTHENTIC.
