Hall of Famer Chipper Jones’ 1999 season saw the switch-hitter banging out 45 home runs, 110 RBI and a batting average of .319. Jones won the National League MVP and led the Braves into the postseason. He was particularly vicious against the Braves NL East rival, the New York Mets. Going into the last week of the season, Jones single-handedly put the nail in the coffin of the Mets pennant hopes by slamming four home runs and driving in seven runs during the two team’s three-game series in September.
Offered here is a full home uniform – jersey and pants, that were worn by the Hall of Famer Chipper Jones during his MVP 1999 season. The jersey is a white button-down Wilson size 46 jersey with “Braves” and a tomahawk paraph sewn on the front in red and navy tackle twill and gold embroidery stitching. There are navy/red/navy piping that runs around the collar and down both sides of the buttons and on the sleeve ends. The Wilson “TAILORED EXCLUSIVELY FOR PRESTIGE TEAMS” tag is sewn on the front left tail, along with a “46” flag and the team strip tag that reads “1 10 99”. The inner placket has a white linen lining. The back of the jersey has “C. JONES” sewn on in navy tackle twill on a matching white nameplate and Jones’ number “10” sewn on below in red and navy tackle twill. The left sleeve has a special “HANK AARON 175 25th ANNIVERSARY” logo patch sewn on. Jones has signed his name in light black marker on the top of the “0” on the back and this jersey displays light game use.
The matching white pants were also made by Wilson and feature navy/red/navy piping down each side of the leg and also borders each belt buckle. The Wilson tag with a wash instructions flag is sewn on the inside back waist, along with the white strip tag that reads “1 10 99”. These pants display heavy game use with numerous faded dirt stains and team repairs on the back left rear and front left knee. This uniform set comes with a letter of professional opinion from noted game used jersey expert Bill Henderson and a LOA from Beckett Authentication (A40086) for the signature.
