Offered is a near completely PSA graded 1969 Topps Basketball set, Topps' first regular issue set of basketball cards since 1957. Missing the rookie card #25 Lew Alcindor, this omission allows the lucky winner to complete this mastery by making his own choice on the key card within the set. The balance of this set contains 98 cards graded PSA NM-MT 8, and one card (#99 Checklist) grading PSA NM 7. Many cards exhibit condition qualities higher than their assigned grades, with opportunities for half or full point bumps. Since this was the first Topps set in 12 years, the majority of players are appearing on a card for the first time, with others such as Jerry West, Wilt Chamberlain and Elgin Baylor who are shown on their second official offerings, appearing first in the 1961 Fleer set. No less that 55 players are listed in the SMR as premium rookie cards including John Havlicek, Billy Cunningham, Bill Bradley, Jerry Lucas, Willis Reed, Elvin Hayes, Earl Monroe, Dave DeBusschere and Walt Frazier. This set is registered in the PSA Registry under Goldin Auctions Winter 2014. A complete listing of this set can be found on the PSA registry where it is ranked 20th. Due to the weight of this lot, shipping costs could be substantial.
