Derrek Lee joined the Cubs in 2005 to fill the right handed power of the departed Sammy Sosa. Lee did more than expected, having a superb year and coming tantalizingly close to winning the coveted Triple Crown. This exquisite Cubs home jersey and pants set date from that 2005 season. The white home blue pinstriped jersey shows appropriate game use with a few small stains scattered throughout. The timeless Cubs logo is on the left front in blue and red embroidery and the cubby bear mascot patch is sewn on the left sleeve. White tagging inside the collar reads "25 52 05 S5" and the Majestic label with added size "52" tagging is sewn in the left front tail. PSA/DNA sticker number V53845 is affixed to the label. The back features Lee's number "25" in blue and red tackle twill above which Lee has signed his name in black marker. The pants show tremendous game use with a hole worn through the back of the left thigh along with other usual small game stains. The Majestic label is sewn inside the waistband beside which is sewn white tagging that reads "25 37-43 36 C 05 S2". Cleaning label is sewn inside the fly. A very attractive Cubs uniform set from Derrek Lee's best season. Certificate of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
