The nickname “Sweet Lou” far from describes Lou Piniella’s managerial demeanor. The fiery Piniella, known for barking at umpires and his less-than-ceremonious ejections, is the owner of three Manager of the Year awards (1995, 2001 in the AL, 2008 in the NL) and directed the Cincinnati Reds to a World Series title in 1990. This Hoosier Bat Co. fungo features Piniella’s signature in bold, black Sharpie with the accompanying inscription “Game Used Fungo” and the engraving “Lou Piniella” scripted into the barrel of the 35-inch bat. The fungo shows light evidence of use, including black rack marks and the occasional spike indentation. The fungo is accented with red, white and blue striping and also had an American flag engraved in the wood. The signed fungo comes with basic PSA certification and is verified with PSA/DNA number U77523.
