Offered is a genuine 1975 Cincinnati Reds World Series Championship Ring owned by a non-playing member of that great Big Red Machine team, which defeated the Boston Red Sox in a thrilling seven-game series. The Big Red Machine name was coined by The Cincinnati Enquirer sportswriter Bob Hertzel on July 4, 1969, a century after the city gave birth to professional baseball. The Reds would win four National League pennants and back-to-back World Series title in 1975 and 1976. A single half-carat brilliant cut diamond is set within a red stone on the face, surrounded by text reading "1975 CINCINNATI REDS WORLD CHAMPIONS" in a uniquely designed double perimeter. The left shank contains the name “MEYER”, an image of Riverfront Stadium in miniature holding the text "THE BIG RED MACHINE," plus the team insignia. A miniature World Series trophy adorns the right shank with the text "REDS 4 RED SOX 3," the final tally of this classic World Series. This 14K gold Balfour ring is size 10 weighs 32 grams and has "LGB 14K" engraved inside the band. There are some areas of tarnish, and the band itself is not perfectly round. However, this is a very nice ring from one of the greatest teams in baseball history, the Big Red Machine squad of 1975.
