Joey Votto, a former National League MVP, has established himself as one of Major League Baseball’s most potent sluggers, hitting 24 or more home runs every season but one since 2008. This gray, button-down Reds game-used road jersey comes from a 2009 season that saw Votto smack 25 homers and drive in 84 runs while posting a .322 batting average. Votto’s signature appears prominently on the front of the jersey in bold, black Sharpie just below “CINCINNATI” and to the right of his number “19,” which both appear in red-on-white tackle twill. Votto signed the jersey again, this time in vivid silver Sharpie on the “9” on back of the jersey with “GAME USED” and “2009” also inscribed above the signature. “VOTTO” and his number “19” appear on the back of the jersey in red-on-white tackle twill, while a Reds logo patch is stitched onto the left sleeve of the piece. A “Majestic Authentic Collection” manufacturer’s tag appears on the front tail of the jersey with size 52, while a faded white strip tag below reads “PROPERTY OF CINCINNATI REDS 2009.” The jersey shows evidence of light game use, comes with PSA certification and a LOA from noted jersey expert Dave Miedema.
