After establishing himself as one of the best pitchers in major league history, Greg Maddux triumphantly returned in 2004 to the team he started with, the Chicago Cubs. The ace right hander won his 300th career game wearing Cubs pinstripes and in April of 2005 became only the 13th pitcher in history to strike out 3,000 batters. The Louisville Slugger L157 is uncracked and shows outstanding use. Many ball and stitch impressions coat the barrel and white leather ball scuffs and blue ink transfers are evident. Marks from a weighted batting donut can be seen and the handle is coated with pine tar. Maddux' number "31" and weight "32oz" are written on the knob and top barrel in marker. Interestingly, the wrong model number has been written as well "L159". The Hall of Famer has signed the barrel in black marker. PSA/DNA sticker number V73141 is affixed to the barrel and 1B07432 to the knob end. Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA who have graded this bat GU 9.
