One of the most difficult of all single signed HOF baseballs is one of the great Honus Wagner, with most known examples deriving from the period when Wagner was a coach for the Pirates in the late 1940s to 1951 when Wagner was late in his Pirate coaching tenure, and when the stamping on this ball indicate. Offered is an Official National League Frick baseball signed by the original Hall of Fame shortstop in blue fountain pen across the sweet spot. Wagner's signature contrasts exceptionally well against the cream-colored background and grades a "7." Wagner is widely considered the greatest shortstop in baseball history, was one of the first five inductees into the Baseball Hall of Fame and his signature alone on a baseball has always been desired by collectors. The ball displays a very light, even toning (with one minor scrape) and is otherwise in Near Mint condition with nicely bold stampings. We need to point out most known single signature Wagner baseballs have been composed on unofficial baseballs and/or signed on side panel. It is exceedingly rare to have a single signed Wagner baseball on the sweet spot. A Honus Wagner single-signed ball is a cornerstone piece for any advanced baseball collection, is one of the most desirable (and difficult 3,000th hit club signature) and the offered ball represents one of the finest examples we have handled. LOA from James Spence Authentication. Also comes with LOA from PSA/DNA who noted there might be a signature removal, although we do see where nor did JSA.
