Playing most of his career with the St. Louis Browns, George Sisler is probably the best fielding and hitting first baseman the game has produce. Besides an incredible .340 lifetime batting average, his 1922 season of .420, 246 hits, 51 stolen bases and 18 triples is one of the greatest offensive periods in the history of baseball. When the Hall of Fame opened in 1939 he was one of the first men elected. Sisler was a pal of Branch Rickey from the teens and the two men stayed connected for many decades. Sisler followed Rickey as a scout and coach from the Cardinals to the Dodgers and then to the Pirates, from which time period this bat dates to. The Hillerich & Bradsby S91 bat is uncracked and shows light use. There are some bat rack paint streaks and various scuffs from 'Ol Sisler showing the boys how it was done when he was king. PSA/DNA sticker number 1B07415 is affixed to the knob end. Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
